When we think of fashion shows, the first thing that comes to our mind is glamorous models walking the runway in splendid garments. But have you ever imagined what all goes into a successful fashion show? Probably not!
Fashion shows have always had the reputation of hosting great talent and mind-blowing creativity of fashion designers. It’s an important platform for designers to proudly showcase their best works.
In today’s day and age, there are very few educational institutes that give a learning experience to students through fashion shows. Hamstech Institute of Creative Education is among those institutes that impart practical, theoretical and technical training to students.
Every year, the Hamstech Fashion Show is one of the most awaited events in Hyderabad. It’s an event that celebrates the hard work, energy and zeal of every student. This year too, the Hamstech Fashion Show began with profound energy.
The Hamstech Fashion Show was held on 24th September 2017 at the N Convention Center, Hyderabad. The show opened with Mrs. Ajita Reddy’s (Director of Hamstech Institute) welcome speech. Prof. (Dr.) N. Kavita Daryani Rao, Vice-Chancellor JNAFAU was the Guest of Honor. Mrs. Vinita Pittie, a renowned fashion designer and Ms. Divya Reddy, a well-known designer who has achieved fame at events viz. Lakme Fashion Week were the judges for the evening. These eminent personalities set the vibe on a high for the event.
The show that began at 12 noon, showcasing a mix of ethnic, western and fusion wear went on with an increasing fervor and participation till 8 pm, when it concluded. A total of 31 collections were displayed by 200+ fashion designing students. 16 collections were displayed before lunch and 17 collections post lunch.
As it is with every fashion show, Hamstech’s fashion designing students had started preparing for the event 2 to 3 months prior to the event. The preparations were closely monitored by celebrity fashion designer and Hamstech’s fashion design mentor, Mrs. Neeta Lulla. She has been very instrumental in assisting the students in portraying their design ideas on garments. As a fashion stylist, she has always given her 100% to train the students to achieve their well-deserved success at the show.
The show was grand featuring exquisite designer wear in lehengas, anarkalis, sarees, palazzos, and dresses. The focus was on Indian embroidery on a variety of fabrics such as chanderi, cotton-silk, georgette and chiffon. Innovative cuts, quirky prints and unique silhouettes were beautifully displayed by the models on the ramp.
The best thing about the show was that many of the Hamstech students were accompanied by their parents, relatives and friends. It was indeed a proud moment for the parents to see their children’s collections on the ramp.
The show ended on a high note with the students receiving awards in various categories such as ‘Jury Award’, ‘Most Glamorous collection’ and ‘Innovative collection’. An after-event party was organized for Hamstech staff and students that fizzed out all the stress and anxiety.
Hamstech stands tall as a leading institute in fashion design education that not just focuses on education but delivers the best in creative education.
