Wedding Dress for Princess Diana by Elizabeth Emanuel

The lace used in the dress was an antique hand-made Carrickmacross lace which had belonged to Queen Mary, a notable mention for the attire.

Wedding Dress for Kate Middleton by Sarah Burton
Catherine Elizabeth Middleton (popularly known as Kate Middleton), Duchess of Cambridge, had her wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton. Sarah is the Creative Director of the renowned fashion brand Alexander McQueen.
The dress was designed to the desire of Kate Middleton to blend tradition to modernity. The ivory satin bodice was padded slightly at the hips and narrowed at the waist, typically taking inspiration from the Victorian tradition of corset designs. There were floral motifs added to the bodice which were cut from machine-made lace. They were then appliquéd on to silk net (tulle). The bridal train stretched to 9 feet in length with appliquéd lace. The bodice design with decorated net was influenced by traditional Carrickmacross lace technique.
