Scarves are some of the most neglected pieces of clothing. We buy them because they look pretty but end up using them rarely or not at all. This may be because of lack of time or the patience to dig through our wardrobes. Scarves, being an open fabric, can be made to look different with some really fun fashion styling ideas. These are also perfect for our super-hot summers as they make for easy breezy clothing and accessories. You can wear these scarves in many different ways, if you know how! We will be showing you some ways you can drape these gorgeous scarves in!
As a Bandeau
A Bandeau is a strapless crop top which can be worn over most bottoms. You’ll need a square scarf or even a rectangular scarf to measure the length from your upper chest to your midriff and fold your scarf in that width. Now wear this over a strapless bralette and tie a knot at the back. If you want to add some extra element you could tie a knot in the front also. Wear this over a skirt, high waist pants, denims or even joggers and add some neck jewellery to elevate your outfit. Layered chains will look the best with a scarf bandeau. Add a shrug or a denim jacket over to avoid tanning if you plan to step outside while wearing it.
As a Skirt
You will need a lengthier scarf to make a skirt out of it. It always varies from person to person, bigger sizes will need more fabric while smaller sizes can work with regular scarves. Look for bolder prints or colour blocked scarves, as they will make for very pretty looking skirts. You could use one or more scarves together to achieve different skirt styles. For one of the most basic styles, take a long scarf and fold it into half or keep its length depending on how lengthy you want the skirt to be. Now wrap it around your waist and tie a knot at any one side, leaving the rest of the fabric to hang. Wear biker shorts inside in nude colours, so that it blends with your skin tone while also making it more comfortable to sit around in a scarf skirt.

As a Halter neck blouse
Wearing a scarf as a halter neck crop blouse has been trending recently. Fold your scarf in half and make gathers or scrunch it up so that gathers form. You could also pleat it but that will take you longer. Now, over a bralette, wrap your folded and scrunched scarf then criss- cross it and take it over your neck and tie it around at the back of your neck. This will give you a cute halter neck crop blouse that you can style with a saree or flared high waist pants. Add a pair of hoop earrings for some extra glam and flaunt your DIY blouse!
As a Turban
Turban is a headgear where a scarf is wrapped around your hair either covering it fully or partially. In some religions, women cover their hair in turbans for their religious beliefs. You can also try sporting a turban as it can look really stylish while also protecting your hair from heat, dust and pollution. There are many styles of tying a turban, you can pick any one of these styles that will work for your hair length. These turban styles will need some time and practice to perfect the look, so refer to tutorial videos online and try it with a scarf. You could opt for printed or monotone scarves based on the rest of your outfit. Turbans will keep your hair in place while also serving as a fashion statement!
