April 1, 2019 was a day of high enthusiasm for Hamstech students as it was special for them for more than one reason.

Hamstech’s Sports Mania was conducted on the day at ORO Sports Village, Shankarpally, Hyderabad. This annual event lets the Hamstech team to celebrate their passion for sports. The event has given them cherished moments from 2017, when it was introduced.

This year too, a prominent sports figure to grace the event. Sandeep Singh, the ex-captain of Indian hockey team, was the esteemed chief guest this time.

The students assembled at the venue by 9 am. After the National Anthem, they spread out to their respective playgrounds and started off with their games. The heat and dust never dissipated their fiery sportive spirit.

The post-noon session started at 2 pm. After the games, it was time for award presentation. Sandeep Singh arrived at the podium with Hamstech’s Director Mrs. Ajita Reddy. He was welcomed by cheering students chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.

After Ajita’s speech welcoming and thanking the participants, media and the chief guest, Sandeep Singh started talking to the students. He narrated his journey starting from a humble background, motivated and supported by his brother to play hockey. His story showed how time tests the will of a true sportsman, fetching him well-deserved glory and accolades.

After answering few questions from the students, he distributed the prizes. His enthusiasm energized the crowd. He reminded all to “go get it” no matter what life throws at you.
