You can’t go too eccentric with an office space, as they prefer more sober and cool colours. While some places might like wacky colours, so it’s all about what meets the requirements of a particular space. Wall Painting Tips for Beginners

• The first thing you gotta do is take a bunch of paint swatches along with you to your space of interest. Mainly paint brands have a swatch book or swatch cards that they give for sampling. Take these colour cards and place them against your walls to see which colour matches with your ideas for that room. Have these options set aside, so that you can visit them later the next day to see if they still are your colours.
• From your selected colour options buy sample paints and try them in small patches on your wall. This will give you some insights on what it might look like once done. Some paint colours look different once they dry out. See if it’s the colour that you want.
• If you are planning to do some colour block on the wall, then measure beforehand and mark it with masking tape. Paint inside the tape and remove it once done. This ensures clean margins and good finishing.
• When you start painting, finish your first coat at once. Don’t leave it and then continue the next day. This will end up making your wall paint colours look patchy. If you feel like you can’t finish a wall at once, then only start it when you have enough time to finish.

Vanilla Ice

Vanilla ice is an off white, cream colour that most of the people opt for, as it’s super easy to work with. When you have neutral wall paint colours like Vanilla ice, you can experiment with other interior elements like accent décor pieces, colorful furniture or home textiles and more variety in general. As the wall colour is muted, you could even incorporate prints and patterns into your interior designs. These will work really well with a vanilla ice wall!

Provincial Blue

Provincial blue is a dusty and dull version of blue, that’s perfect for office spaces and even living rooms. This colour when used for wall painting opens up and brightens spaces which is great for small rooms. Black & white prints, earthy tones like maroons, browns and mustard will work well with provincial blue. You can look for these colours while sourcing furniture, interior décor pieces and other elements. As it’s a cool colour, it’s pretty soothing on the eyes and is a crowd favourite.

Cool Gray

Who doesn’t love a cool gray wall! This is white with a tiny hint of black which gives our cool gray colour. It’s perfect for kitchen walls and office walls alike. This is also one other cool colour, that pairs well with shades of green, blue, pinks and reds. English interior themes can have cool gray walls as a part of their colour scheme.

Light Mahogany

Light Mahogany(1) is a rose pink shade with cool undertones. These can be used to highlight certain areas of a wall or a space. You don’t necessarily have to use them in a whole room, but you can use it to elevate the highpoints of a room.

Merlot

Merlot is a deep red mixed with a tinge of magenta and is a bold choice. It’s one of the most loved accent wall colours and can be found as a part of traditional themes and high ceiling houses. The intensity of this colour is attention seeking and gives whichever room it’s used in some great definition. Mustards, beiges and blues work really well with this shade of red!
