Food is a necessity that you can indulge in. We have cooked & eaten at fancy restaurants, ordered takeaways at some or the other time in our lives and we continue to do so. So have you ever thought about the people behind such delicacies and mouth-watering dishes? Well yes. They are the chefs! Every new dish that we have has been worked on and invented by some or the other chef around the world. So what is it that they do then? They do everything that’s related to cooking which is known as the Culinary Course. Cooking is a part of culinary arts and not the whole definition of it! Culinary training involves many things. Right from the name of the dish you see on the menu to the presentation of the dish, it’s all culinary training. Cooking, serving, presentation, preparing all of these together form the culinary arts.
A professional who is trained in culinary arts, knows all the things involved in it. They think about what ingredients will work for the ongoing season, they source those fresh ingredients and store them accordingly. They work tirelessly on creating recipes that will sit well on people’s palette and curate what goes on the menu. They organize the kitchen and lead a group of junior chefs, sous chefs and servers to perform all the important processes involved in the culinary arts. If you have been passionate about flavours and preparing food that’s a unique version of itself, then you could pursue culinary arts.
