Fashion is quite fascinating, while most will agree with this, some may disagree. It does take an aesthetic eye to spot different & upcoming trends in the fashion industry. One easy way to do this is window shopping! We see so many people just lazing about at the mall or just walking around checking out items, even if they aren’t going to buy something. That’s them checking out what is new in fashion! As soon as fashion brands stock up on new collections, we see people flooding their stores. So window shopping is a complete visual treat, you will get to see what the latest trend is and can buy it immediately if interested!
It is also true that fashion is a cycle, so what you saw on the runway about 10 – 15 years ago might make a comeback today. There are also some fashion trends that are way too absurd and we might end up not wearing those at all. So the key is to be trendy but also to not splurge and buy unnecessarily. There are quite a few trends doing the rounds in 2021, that are cute, wearable and some that can even be repurposed from what you already have.
We thought we would research some of these fashion trends that fashionistas all over the world are loving and find some that we think would be a great addition to your wardrobe. We also picked some fashion trends that you may be able to achieve using what you already own. These are some fashion trends that we personally loved and hope you appreciate them too!

Oversized Jackets
This is a fashion trend we could easily get on board with! Oversized, broad shouldered jackets or jackets with shoulder pads are just so boxy, comfortable and edgy. The best part about oversized jackets is if you don’t find one in your size you could always opt for bigger sizes. When fitting is not one of the concerns, it becomes super easy to shop for these or you could just borrow jackets from the men in your life! Jackets will always come in handy, so this one isn’t much of a thinker. You could go right ahead and buy one for yourself. This fashion trend might be here to stay! These can be literally worn over anything, from leggings, skirts, bodycon dresses, shorts to denims.
Baggy Denims
Ditch those skinny fits and embrace this all-baggy denims trend! Getting a pair of denims that fit you like a glove is quite difficult, we keep jumping from brand to brand in search of these. Enter baggy denims, these are just the best. People have been rocking the bell bottoms and flared denim trend for a while now. This fashion trend couldn’t have come at a better time, with hot summers ahead of us, baggy denims will keep us comfortable this season. Again, make use of your sibling’s wardrobes if they happen to be a bigger size than you! It’s all about repurposing wherever you can.
Second Skin Dressing
Yes apparently second-skin dressing is a trend now. It’s a really smart way of wearing full sleeves and turtle necks in summers! These second skins are super thin and are made out of thinly knit fabrics(1). They are stretchable, airy, light and are available in a variety of prints and patterns. Mesh second skins are also one of the popular choices. These can be worn under slip dresses, spaghetti tops, crop-tops and bralettes. These can also be worn over cropped blouses and tank tops. You can flaunt layered looks in summer without getting baked in the heat with these really cool second-skin clothing options!

Tie and Dye Clothing
We saw tie and dye clothing make an appearance in the end of 2020 and it has very much stayed intact in 2021 as well. Tie and dye is a kind of dyeing technique that gives unique patterns post dyeing. We saw a lot of people sporting tie and dye co-ord sets and sweatshirts this season. There are tie and dye do-it-yourself kits available that can be used at home to dye any of your plain clothing. These are cool and could be dyed in a wide range of colors, which are amazing to look at!
Midriff Flossing
Flossing is all about working with wrap-around cords that come with tops, blouses, crop-tops and tying them around the midriff in different ways. This one is quite new and interesting so we wanted to mention this fashion trend to you. If you don’t want to spend your money on these pieces, you could get this look with the clothes that you already own. All you need is some really long thin fabric ropes or cords, attach these to the inner seams at the end of your crop-tops or bralettes. Now play around and try tying them around your midriff/waist area in different interesting knots and patterns!
