The Hamstech Fashion Show was a true show of talent and creativity. Among the 31 collections, 7 were chosen as the best collections under different categories. The collection “Ranga Da Mela” won the title of “Best Accessorized” collection of 2017.

Students from the fashion designing department showcased an exclusive wardrobe of Punjabi embroidery. Phulkari is the embroidery that originates from the state of Punjab. The collection features the vibrancy of Phulkari embroidery done on fusion and ethnic garments.

 

 

Fusion garments to look forward to in the collection are palazzos and maxis with flared sleeves. These garments also have block prints and embroidery. Ethnic garments that are must-haves from the collection include sarees with pleated border, patialas, blouses with thread embroidery and tassels, and block printed jackets. Phulkari embroidery is added on various fabrics such as raw silk, natural crepe, georgette, chiffon, Kora Chanderi and cotton silk.

 

 

The dominant colours used in the collection were yellow, orange and beige. The unique cuts and patterns were the main highlight of the collection. The young designers who contributed towards making the collection a success were, Alkehya Sudhamalla, Avinash Rathod, Ashritha Reddy, Mounika Yarabarla, Lathika Juneja and Meghana Matlapudi.
