Like a dream come true, Rachna Kimtee found a big leap in her fashion design journey when she bagged the opportunity to showcase her collections in the India Fashion Week that took place on November 12, 2017 in London.

Rachna is a talented and enterprising fashion student from Hamstech, with fashion designing ideas that gained more substance and purpose in time. That resulted in her impressive performances at TheHlabel show and Mysore Fashion Week. It was following these that she solely got selected to participate in the Gen X category of the India Fashion Week hosted in London.

Getting an international platform to showcase her collection was a great opportunity. She utilised it to present her collections that featured the intricate double ikat weaves and Banjara needle crafts that are valuable indigenous weaving styles of India. She also showcased the handloom fabric art of Telangana called Telia Rumal, which is currently facing extinction. Her collection, though ethnic, had a Western twist to it that was ingeniously done.

Elated on the success of her solo show in London, she was all praise for the training and support she received from Hamstech Institute. Sharing the joy and pride of her friends, colleagues and the entire team at Hamstech, she reiterates the valuable guidance and inspiration she received from her mentor at Hamstech, Mrs. Neeta Lulla.

A fashion designer who cares about making eco-friendly garments, Rachna always makes it a point to make outfits that are comfortable to wear. Her choices of themes for collections show her attempts to bring out valuable craftsmanship and artistry that can be found only in the rich heritage and culture of India. She is also very determined to carry on with her mission to revive indigenous textile crafts.

Hamstech is very proud of her achievement. The institute feels a sense of accomplishment when it sees its students scale new heights of success, which is the sole intention and motive of its educational enterprise.
